A commission for a mail order print, the subject was a completely original example stored in a heated garage for most of its life. A very rare find for a friend of mine who keeps it perfectly preserved. The original illustration in airbrush on illustration board was sold.
Lancia Aurelia
A cutaway of the clever and stylish Lancia Aurelia.
This innovative design had a number of interesting features like a compact 60 degree V6 front engine, fully independent suspension, with a transaxle and clutch assembly at the rear, flanked by inboard drum brakes, helping to reduce the unsprung weight.
VW Beetle
The VW Beetle does have a massive cult following, but it’s certainly not a favourite of mine. This was a reasonable commission, and I needed the work. The subject is a 1970s bug, with horrible orange paint and the rear view shows the gutless 1300cc flat four engine in situ.
